Aurora From Baker

When I setup my camera facing Mt Shuksan from a few switchbacks below Mt Baker Ski Resort, something seemed awry. My first few exposures gave me a sense that something was severely off with the white balance in my camera. I couldn’t correct it. After hundreds of thousands of exposures, maybe this camera was ready for retirement? I couldn’t let it go. In a bout of frustration, I calmed myself with a few deep breaths and reminded myself to look up. That’s when it hit me and I saw my first wave coming in from the tide of the Aurora Borealis.
